I recently wrote a post about a great young couple that I helped buy their first home in Chester County, PA. You can read that post here.

I love the relationship aspect of real estate.   During the first time buyer's credit a long while ago, I showed a home to several different first time buyers.  It was always the bride's maid, never the bride, so to speak.  I left a card each time I visited.  The sellers didn't sell the home during the blitz of first time buyers, but remembered me and when they were looking to buy a larger home they called me.

I got to know the entire family who are wonderful, warm and loving people, over the 6 years that we looked for different homes and we became friends.  At first, they were looking for a larger home and they were going to keep their townhouse as an investment.  This was during the downturn we had in real estate when there were a lot of short sales.  Short sales are notoriously hard to buy, foreclosures sometimes harder and for one reason or another, we never quite got to the finish line.  But each time they saw something, they called me, and I made an appointment to show them the house.

Fast forward...  The buyer, who was living with her family in the townhouse got engaged to be married.  As luck would have it, we are not in the down-turned buyer's market, but in a very short on inventory-seller's market.  We made an offer on a home, over asking, and didn't get the house.  We made another offer on another home, also over asking, and didn't get the house.  Finally, after much searching, we found the house of their dreams.

They were married during this time and now, I'm happy to say, they are the proud owners of a gorgeous single family home in Chester County.  The buyer wrote this about the experience (the testimonial entitled "Letter to the Editor").

If you think real estate agents are just in it for the money, you haven't met the right real estate agents.
